We are looking for a Sr Software Engineer to work remotely (contract to hire) for our client, a NY-based startup.
Their lauded all-in-one SaaS solution for effortless expense, management, receipt scanning, tax refund optimization + more has seen major success, with over 1m downloads and 50k+ paying customers to date.
Capitalizing on their success, they are now looking for a Sr Software Engineer to help them spin out more products to expand their product suite.
This role will involve all the excitement you can expect from working in an early stage startup, and you will bring that type of experience to the role as you wear many hats in the development studio: writing code, testing your software, tracking & analyzing user-data, contributing to the ongoing development of the company + product(s)..etc
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable web applications, using Python and Django, writing clean & efficient code
- Write unit tests and perform code reviews to ensure high-quality code
- REST API development
- Optimize application performance and scalability
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in web development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science, Computer Engineering or similar
- Senior-level proficiency in Python, with experience using Django
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS & JavaScript
- Familiarity with database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
- Early stage startup experience
- Experience with public cloud, preferably AWS (ECS)
- Ability to work EST hours
Nice to Haves:
- Fullstack development experience – with modern frontend frameworks like React, Svelte etc
- Production-level experience with React Native, or mobile development in general
This is a contract to hire role, with rates being paid competitively. There is potential for this to turn into a full time role upon successful completion of a short contract.
